What's on around Minchinhampton?
There are lots of lovely market towns to visit, all within ten to twenty minutes' car journey. There’s Stroud with its multi-award-winning Farmers’ Market, one of the busiest and most popular in the UK. Cirencester, a Roman town, known as the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’, is steeped in history, with a Roman amphitheatre and the Corinium Museum. The town has art galleries, cafes, individual shops and parks where it is easy to while away a morning or afternoon. In Tetbury, with its royal connections and beautiful architecture, you will find antique shops, up-market boutiques and the famous Highgrove shop. Just outside Tetbury is the famous Westonbirt Arboretum, well worth a visit; it has a full calendar of events, including open air concerts and exhibitions. Within an hour’s journey there are the towns/cities of Bath, Bristol and Cheltenham.
Two newspapers, the Stroud News & Journal and Stroud Life, have extensive listings of local activities.
